18 months.

So my little Bean is 18 months. Last week we took him for his check up and he is now up to 32.5 lbs and 33.5" tall. Yesterday he FINALLY said his first word-ball (baaa)!!! So cute to finally hear him using english! Then last night he said baby (beebee), all gone (ahh-gaa). Zero to three within hours. I wonder what this week will bring!?!

WTF?

So Tuesday I came home from work to find this horrendous Joe Dirt-esque image before my eyes. Bradyn decided that he needed his bangs trimmed so he "snatched them up in donkey tails and went cut and cut and cut". You can't tell from this picture but his hair was beautiful flowing golden locks of corn silk. I had been advocating a hair cut, but this is NOT what I had in mind. I have done a bit of a hack job trim to the rest of his hair to decrease the mullet look a bit until we can get him in to the hair dresser. This was, and still is a traumatic event for me, but it seems that it induces uncontrolled laughing among others...so go ahead, laugh it up. I won't be too offended. I just have to keep telling myself that it could have been worse. It could have been right to the wood, and thankfully his hair grows fast! Oh the joys of children! And I wonder where the grey hair is coming from!??!

Some updates

So, where shall I start. Bradyn I suppose. Kindergarten is going well. He loves it and is already twitterpated with a set of twin girls in his class. Everything is "Jewel and Jade this, and Jewel and Jade that". Like Bradyn, they are full of energy and I am just hoping and praying that they all stay out of trouble and that Bradyn doesn't come home with any naughty new habits or attitude like what happened with his girlfriend from preschool. Last week when Grandma went to pick him up the teacher made some comments about how sometimes Bradyn has problems listening...Not exactly what a mother wants to hear. So now before school I make sure I read him the riot act...just to jog his memory.
Today was his first day at school since Friday. Saturday he was feeling fine and then that night he woke up with croup...so after trying to defuse it myself with no success, I took him to emerg. He got the usual steroid nebulizer and drink treatment and we were home by 2 a.m. We kept him home this week to try to contain the germs, but when I picked him up today I noticed that all the other kids were snotty and hacking too, so futile efforts on my part???
Evan is doing good. He was the first one to get the cold, but he is back to 100% now. A few weeks ago he had his follow up appointment with the speech therapist. She was very impressed and suggested we go back in a year for his final assessment and discharge from the system.
Avery is also snotty and congested, and still refuses to say any words. Today I thought he said baby, but it isn't consistent, so I will keep working on it.
Not much else new here. Hope everyone is doing well, and now with the colder weather settling in, I hope to keep up with the blogging a little better!

fix ups!

For those of you who didn't know, about 4 years ago Dan and I had our wedding bands tattooed on. We had celtic love knots done, and lets just say they were less than great. Over the past month and a half we have gone to Osoyoos three times to see an awesome tattoo artist. First he covered the existing knot with a solid band of brown. This had to be done twice as fingers have a hard time keeping ink. Yesterday we went and here is the final product. A little better than the original don't you think?!?! We couldn't be happier! Thank you Simon!!!

Above is Dan's before and below is after

Above is my before (take note how you can't even tell it is a love knot) and below is after. I love it so much!!
