Winter in a nutshell....
We had lots of visitors this fall/winter, which made me a very happy girl! We were all overjoyed to see Jesse and Becky! It is unfortunate that flights are not a little less money!
Christmas was fantastic and fast flying once again this year. I love Christmas and wish we could make it more of an extended family affair, but with Dan's retail job, he only gets off early Christmas eve and Christmas day off and back to the grind extra early boxing day, so that forces us to be extra antisocial!
Our final visitor of the year was my long time friend Emma who came for her annual winter visit, The kids adore her as do Dan and I, so we were also thankful for her time with us!
And on to 2011...Dan and I had been renting a place for the past 2 years as we were unable to qualify for a mortgage due to us having to pay the mortgage on Penticton and rent here for so long...things got a little tight and tough choices had to be made as to where our money should be spent. In the end our credit rating left something to be desired and our dream of owning our own home became a dot in the distant horizon.
For the hell of it, Dan took a trip into the mortgage brokers office just after Christmas to see how far we had to go before we had a change of qualifying for a mortgage, and to our huge surprise we qualified! Let me tell you that the house hunt began that day!! A couple weeks later we found a place we both loved, and the rest is history!!
