We're here for a good time, not a long time...
Jesse was back in the country for a week for his friend, Jason's wedding. It has been two and a half years since he has been in Canada, and this week he met Evan and Avery for the first time. It's unfortunate that it was such a short visit, but a short visit is better than no visit at all!
A jam session is always on the agenda when Jesse and Jason happen to be in the neighbourhood! Wednesday, September 27, 2006
Visit With the Pediatrician

This week Avery went for a follow up appointment with the pediatrician. He is up to around 16 lbs, 3 oz, which is almost a pound a week. The doctor couldn't believe he gained so much in such little time. (gotta love that butter!) So now he is up in the normal range for everything and the scare is over...phewph!
We are to go back in three months for one last follow up appointment.

Six Month Update.
On Monday Avery went to the doctor for his six month check. He weighted in at 15 lbs, 4 oz, and was 26" long. Other than that, there is nothing to report. The doctor is happy with his progress, and wants to see him again at eight months. Next week we are off to see the peditrician for a follow up appointment, and I suspect that she will be pleased with his progress too. Monday, September 18, 2006
American Bad Ass, Broncos, and Bars...

Today Dan leaves Denver and heads home. It sounds like he had a pretty good time! Not very much sleep, but he was able to hit the clubs, catch a Kid-Rock concert, and a Broncos football game.
This morning they flew from Denver to Seattle, and from there, they are driving home, So we are expecting him this evening. WooHoo!

First Day of Preschool!
Yesterday Bradyn had his first full morning of preschool. I sat at home a little nervous about how he would behave, and a little sad that my baby is growing up so fast. As it turns out he was a very good boy. He helped another little boy settle in, and held his hand all day! I am very proud of my little man! Day two tomorrow! Lets hope it goes just as well. Keep your fingers crossed!!!Rockstar Super-Bradyn

Now The Official Update.
Yesterday I got a call from the pediatrician's office asking if I would be interested in filling a cancellation spot. So off we went. She measured Avery at 13 lbs 11 oz, and 26 3/8 inches. So what that means is that he is doing very well for length, but she isn't satisfied with his weight. Her theory is that he just isn't getting enough calories, so for two weeks I have to push the fat, which means adding butter to his rice cereal and squash (or whatever I give him for dinner). Apparently butter causes some constipation, so I also have to add barley malt to his food too. What a nasty looking meal it turns into, but Avery loves it, so all is good! Wish us luck! We will find out the results in a couple weeks.
