Soccer Mom?

Today Bradyn started soccer. It has to be just about the most hilarious thing I have ever seen! A bunch of little 4,5 and 6 yr olds running in all directions!! Bradyn had a blast and I think he is starting to grasp the concept of keeping the ball INSIDE the little sectioned off field, and passing to his team mates. If you look closely at his knee you will even see his first soccer "injury". I use that term loosely because I fear it was more tears of frustration from being tackled (accidentally) than actual pain. All in all it was a fun morning! Next week I will actually remember to take the camera to the field and I will post some action shots.

Back to The Grind!

Well, hard to believe but my 50 weeks of maternity leave has come and gone. Last week was my first week back to the ol' grind. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the transition was. Everything is coming back to me...slowly but surely (thanks to the girls at work not killing me for asking so many questions). I am working half time (2 days one week, 3 days the next, 2, 3...) so we only have to have a sitter in on Tuesdays, which is easier for the boys and easier on our pocket book.
What else is new here?...We had a few parties for Avery over the weekend. Friday we had Dan's family over for pizza and cake, and on Sunday we had our friends over for bbq burgers and dogs. Avery had a blast with all the people to amuse and show off for.
My goodness, I am sure that there is more that I could and should write about, but my brain has officially gone to sleep. I think it would be wise if I let my body join it...Work in the morning! Uggggh. Night-Night!!

Happy Birthday Avery!!!

Yesterday my little jelly bean had his first birthday! I can't believe how fast the year has gone. He now weighs 24 lbs 5 oz and is 30.5" long, which puts him at around the 75th percentile. Finally he is starting to catch up to his brothers!
Here is a little photo journey of Avery's life with us, 2 months at a time. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Avery!!! We love you!!

Potty update...

Thank you everyone for all your words of encouragement and helpful hints! Last night we had success!!! Evan walked to the bathroom, climbed up on the toilet and pooped without any issues! I am sooooo happy and proud of him. We all piled into the bathroom and cheered and high-fived him and he got a special Dora colouring book. He is proud of himself and has been telling everyone he sees "I poo-poo in toy-lut!!!" Very cute.
Evan has been diaperless for somewhere around a week and a half, and he has only had two really wet mornings, and two slightly damp mornings, and the rest have been bone dry!! It is so nice to only have one in diapers again!

Potty talk...not for the faint of heart.

Well potty training is in full effect! Evan has been diaperless all day every day for about a month now, and is on night 4 without a diaper. So far the score for nights is 2 wins and 1 loss. We are so proud of our wee little man!! We shall see what tonight brings. Fingers crossed for another win! We are having one little problem though. Poops. Yep, he absolutely refuses to poop on the toilet. We had similar issues with Bradyn, but this is getting me soooo frustrated! Every time I put him down for a nap or to bed within five minutes he has poop in his underwear. I have tried bribing him, sitting him on the toilet for 20 minutes before bed, and so far nothing is working. I know he knows how to push one out as he HAS showed off his stellar skills before. I am not sure if he is doing it on purpose to get out of his room, or if he has to go so bad that he can't hold it in anymore...a bit too big of a coincidence that it is when he is put to bed maybe? I don't know. All I know is that I am sick of washing out undies, and I refuse to put him back into diapers. Help!! Any wise words of advice or encouragement anyone?

What? 29? Who Me!?!?!

For those of you who don't know, I am the biggest birthday freak there is (aside from maybe my dear friend Sylvia S.). For as long as I can remember I have woke up on my birthday singing "Happy Birthday To Meeeeeee!!!"and continue it until I go to sleep that night. I am one of those birthday announcers..."Hey, guess what day it is today!". Funny thing happened this year...At midnight when it officially turned March 8th I had a wee bit of a melt down. It started off as a slow quiet tear drip, and quickly progressed into (as Oprah would put it) an ugly cry. I am slightly confused by it...Maybe it is just stress finding a place to vent itself, maybe it is because it's that time of the month and I'm hormonal, or maybe it is sadness that I am at the end of my 20's. I LOVED and still do love my 20's. Well what ever it might have been, I got over it and I am going to have a great day tomorrow! Dan, my sweet lovable adorable husband somehow managed to get the day off work tomorrow because I told him that I really wanted to have a family day. So...that's the plan. Wake up, and get out of the house! Maybe go to the park, or if the weather is crappy, maybe just go for a drive somewhere. It honestly doesn't matter to me what we do or where we go as long as I am with my family.
Well everyone, the time has come...I have waited long enough and I know that you are all very anxious to hear it...so here it is!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEE,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEEEEE,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOOOO MEEEEEEEEEEE,
HAAAAAAPPY BIRRRRRRTHDAAAAAAAAAY TOOOOOO MEEEEEEEE!
Thank you, thank you...please hold your applause...I can't hear them anyway. ;) Love to you all! (yes, I am well aware that I am a dork!)

Shots from today.

Today we got up, dressed, and flew the coop! It was so awesome getting all the kids out of the house and just going for a drive. We stopped at the Japanese gardens for a few pictures, grabbed some lunch and came home for nap time. Not very eventful, but after being chained in the house...it was just awesome and we all had a blast!!

In a nut shell...

Hi everyone. I just thought that I should take a few seconds to give you a brief update on the chaos which we now call every day life. Let me tell you, it has been a rough old winter for us (as you can tell by my last million illness posts). Well it isn't over yet. Since my last post the family has been struck hard with a stomach flu...not the 24 hour kind either...the kind that leaves your stomach in knots for about a week. Poor little Evan had a visit with emerg for dehydration from over 24 hrs of vomiting and diarrhea. They gave him a gravol suppository, did some blood work, and monitored him for a few hours, and then sent us home once he was tolerating drinking again. He got hit the worst, but we all had our share. So now it's over? One would have suspect...but then yesterday Bradyn crashed in my bed for a few hours complaining of body aches and then wouldn't eat dinner. Then he had a bout of diarrhea. I hope it was just a isolated incident. Anyway, that's it in a nut shell. The family who never got sick now is the family who never gets well.
