9 Month Update
This morning Avery had his follow up with the pediatrician. She was quite impressed with his progress, so we are thrilled. He is up to 18 lbs 8 oz, which is the 20th percentile and his length is in the 75th. The Dr. pointed out that there is still a large weight/length discrepancy, so she still wants us to push the food to up his caloric intake. Today we got said goodbye to the pediatrician as we won't be needing to see her anymore!! Yippy!! Next check up will be at 10 months with our family doctor.

Visit With Santa
Last week we took the boys to see Santa. They were so good while we waited in line for the better part of an hour! Finally it was their turn, and Evan's excitement turned to terror. As soon as the fat bearded guy asked Ev to sit on his knee, he was outta there! "Mummmmmyyyyy!!!!" It was rather funny (the sick twisted things we do to our kids). The photographer was amazing. He got Santa to move off the chair and over to the fire place, gave Evan a candy cane and got him as far away from Santa as possible. Poor Evan found it very difficult to give an authentic smile, so the final product was him doing his "cheeeeeeeese" face with his eyes stilll welled up with tears. I think the picture turned out pretty well considering! Next year I am going to have to start conditioning him in September...Santa flash cards, and random strangers in red suites and massive beards. ;)Friday, December 08, 2006
Tic-Tac Time.
Evan is now officially starting potty training. He is doing absolutely awesome! As long as I ask him if he has to go pee, he can make it all day with a dry diaper. We are using orange flavor tic-tacs as a reward like we did with Bradyn, and he loves it. "Mummy, pee-pee!...CANDY!!!". He loves the cheering and praising too.Yesterday Evan woke up with a weepy eye. Through out the day it continued to get muckier, puffier and redder, so before dinner I dropped Bradyn and Avery off with Daddy at work, and took him to the walk in clinic. The Dr. barely looked at him and prescribed some antibiotic eye drops. I guess his guess was that it was pink eye (even though his eye isn't pink and his whole eye area is red and swollen...But who am I to question the expert?) Anyway, so this morning when he woke up it looked a bit better already. Poor little guy has had so many eye issues in the past two years. His first eight months of life were spent with a mucky eye due to a blocked tear duct. Then last summer when he had the bite and his eye puffed up like he was a prize fighter...and now this.
Other that the eye issue he is doing great. His early language development group is finished. When we went for our first consult at the end of August he was barely using any words, and now, three months later he is a talking machine. He is almost always using three and four word sentences, and learns new words every day! They sure do grow up fast!!
