So the end of September was full of ups and downs for Bradyn. First there was the horrendous hair cut, then last week (Sept 27th) Bradyn fell and hurt his arm. He was playing on the merry-go-round with Evan and Bradyn learned the hard way why it isn't safe to jump on it. Anyway, he complained about it all day and wasn't using it at all. His whole fore arm hurt from the wrist to the elbow. The next day it was still really bothering him so I took him in to see the doctor. We were advised to go to emerg that evening for x-rays. Problem. We had tickets for Blue Man Group. This was an early birthday surprise for Bradyn. I explained this to the doctor and he didn't figure it would do any damage to wait till morning for the x-rays, so off to Kelowna we went! We told Bradyn we were going grocery shopping and we needed his help to think of things we needed. He was a bit confused when we got there, sat down and the opening d.j. started playing. It was too cute. Then Blue Man Group came out and Bradyn just about fell off his chair! He was so excited and had the time of his life, sore arm and all. Dan has the camera at work so if I get a minute tonight I will post some pics of the show.
The next morning we got up early and went to emerg. After about 1.5 hours there we were told that they didn't see any fractures and were sent home. Tuesday at work I got one of the docs to snoop and find the x-ray results for me. It turns out that the x-ray showed fluid on the elbow which indicates some sort of fracture, so I kinda freaked out and instantly made another appt to see our doctor. He took another look at Bradyn's arm and the x-ray results and says he figures it is a small crack in the radial head (the part of the little arm bone up at the elbow). These are relatively minor and heal on their own rather quickly, so that is good news! But still my baby has his first broken bone!! :( Anyway, that's about it in a nutshell! Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving weekend!!!

Oh my goodness how awful. What a brave little trooper. Good job Sarah on having a second look and following through. Just goes to show that sometimes a little mother's intuition goes a long way. Hugs to your boy!
