Just a quick family update for you...
Dan is doing well at his store in Cranbrook. He has been there since the end of August and spent the first month and a bit doing renos and hiring staff. The store opened the beginning of October and business has been very good!! He is enjoying the management position, although it has been quite overwhelming and stressful at times, trying to get his staff knowledgeable enough that he can let them be, and get his own work done. He has been home only a couple times and has only seen Addie once since she was born, so that has been a bit rough for him.
As for the rest of us, we are all good here. Bradyn is loving grade 1 and is doing very well academically. Evan is 4 and we have him in preschool three mornings a week and he absolutely loves it! As for Avery, he loves his mornings when it is just me, him and Addie. That's when we get the groceries and running around done. His speech is finally starting to take off, but the speech therapist thinks he would do very well with more intense therapy to help him start using more sounds. At the moment he drops all air flow sounds (sssss, shhhh, thhhh, fffff) and often leaves the end sound off words. I can understand most every thing he says, but by three a stranger should understand about 70% of what he is saying, and that isn't the case at the moment!
Addie is already 2 months old today!! It is unbelievable how fast time zooms by! I took her to the Dr. last week for her 8 week check up and she is up to 8 lbs 11 oz, which is only a few oz more than Evan weighed at birth. She is such a good little girl and is full of smiles and coos these days. I can't wait to show her off to her Daddy!!!!
The kids starting to get excited about Christmas, and have their letters to Santa ready to mail. This year Santa will visit us in Cranbrook! The plan is to leave here on December 21st so we can spend Christmas with Dan. He is living in a 2 bdrm, less than 900 sq. ft. trailer in Kimberley, which is about 20 minutes from Cranbrook. We are going to give it a 2 week trial run over the holidays, and if we feel that the six of us can survive in the tight living quarters, we will stay and get Bradyn enrolled in a grade 1 class there. I will also see if there is a preschool with openings so that Evan can make some little buddies too. If it is too small and we don't feel that it will work then the kids and I will come back here and wait for the house to sell. Fingers crossed!!! You never know...we have an open house here on the 13th, so maybe we will find our buyer sooner than later!
Well, that's about it for now! I will keep posting as I get new pictures and news to share!
